Findley's Driving School distinguishes itself from the competition by complying with the minimum service levels below.
At Findley's we understand that you want to achieve value for money and still receive the thoroughly professional service upon which our reputation stands.
With our mixture of up to date vehicles, professional instructors and all of the resources that you have already read about in the left hand column of the site; we are certain that you will not regret your decision to get in contact with Findley's Driving School.
At Findley's Driving School we believe that the following set of driving school promises are the minimum requirements that you should be able to expect from any instructor. If you are considering other schools you should make sure that they at least match this level of service.
1) We will provide all pupils with a teaching environment which is condusive to their driving education.

A teaching environment consists of more than just the provision of a modern dual controlled car which is the most obvious element. A professional instructor who is properly prepared to provide you with a course of lessons tailored to your individual requirements is the most important element.
Building a successful teaching environment depends upon both the teacher and the pupil; however, the initial responsibility for achieving this state falls on the teacher. It is important that the teacher is well resourced with teaching aids, confident with their subject and relaxed in manner.
At Findley's we do not just teach you to drive. We study teaching you to drive so that we are on a continuous learning curve ourselves.
2) Lessons are One Hour in duration Guaranteed.
Your Findley's Driving School instructor will always try their best to attend your lessons on time. Punctuality is important to pupils and instructors alike.
The one thing that we as a driving school are as susceptible to as any other road user is traffic delays. Whether it be a pair of bad drivers both refusing to give way at a gap, roadworks, heavy loads or emergency vehicles blocking the road to name just the obvious ones.
If traffic does delay your instructor, do not worry. You will not lose any lesson time. However late they are will be added to the end of your lesson so that you do not lose out. With Findley's driving school you will always get the full hour that you are paying for.
3) Your driving instructor will almost certainly have a mobile telephone in the car somewhere. It will be turned off for the duration of the lesson.
At Findley's Driving School we forbid our instructors to use their mobiles whilst on driving lessons. It is our belief that a professional driving instructor has enough to do concentrating on the normal aspects of the job without the added requirement of carrying out a conversation with a third party.
We respectfully request that pupils turn their mobiles off for the same reasons. If you really need to know that you have had a call then you can set most modern phones to vibrate.
4) Findley's Driving School allows no back seat passengers in the vehicle during the course of a lesson.
Some schools allow their instructors to have another pupil drive to your house and then you have to drive them home. At the end of your lesson they may expect you to finish elsewhere for their next pupil to drive you home, a practice known in the industry as piggy-backing.
If you object to this type of behaviour then you should enquire of every driving school that you are considering as to whether this can happen in their cars. Professional tuition from Findley's Driving School is provided strictly on a one to one basis.
5) No one has ever been shouted at in one of our driving lessons.

It is a sad fact that some pupils have found the need to change from their previous instructor and come to Findley's on the basis that they are not prepared to be shouted at. Findley's Driving School would take any such complaint very seriously indeed.
Intimidating pupils has nothing to do with sustaining a suitable teaching environment and certainly does not help them to learn.
6) No smoking is allowed in your tuition vehicle.
Findley's driving school operates a no smoking policy. Quite simply put, the pleasure of a cigarette to a smoker is far outweighed in terms of customer service by the discomfort suffered by the non-smokers who occupy the car afterwards.
7) A record of your achievements will be kept up to date on a lesson by lesson basis.

Constructive feedback at the end of the lesson can be a very positive thing. Recapping the main points of the lesson and discussing faults as well as progress is not only a very beneficial way of highlighting the work done on the current lesson, it is the best basis for achieving pupil understanding of the aims of the following lesson.
You should always leave a tuition vehicle with an appreciation of the high points, and an understanding of what caused any low points, on the lesson. This is far better than the instructor simply saying, "not bad, bye then, same time next week?"
8) Continuous Professional Development
'Quality of service' and 'Professionalism' are the watchwords of Findley's driving school. It is essential for a Findley's instructor in today's training environment to keep up to date with not only the changes in techniques and teaching methods, but also the D.S.A revisions to the theory and practical driving tests. This process is known as Continued Professional Development (CPD). Education is a lifelong process and a good driving instructor will never stop looking for better ways to pass on their knowledge.
To this end I am a regular attendee at the meetings of the Nuneaton Professional Driving Instructors Association where all matters relating to A.D.I's in the area are freely discussed.
I am also a member of the Motor Schools Association of Great Britain which keeps me up to date with national developments. Both of these organisations take part in consultation exercises with the Driving Standards Agency.
9) The provision of 'free to use' resources online that are accurate, extensive, and regularly added to.

This unique asset is more valuable to you than you might imagine. The ability to remain up to date on a twenty four hour basis is not something that you should miss lightly. How many other schools do you think care about your development enough to provide such a FREE Knowledge Base? Am I correct in thinking that you can't name any?
The Knowledge Base is maintained by a full-time practising professional driving instructor and new content is often added. Existing content is reciewed periodically for accuracy. Some driving school websites that offer advice are actually maintained by ex-driving instructors and the advice available from them is out of date.
10) We operate a fair refund policy.
In the unlikely event that a pupil should pay in advance for lessons and for whatever reason require a refund for any lessons as yet untaken; that refund will be repaid by cheque which will be posted on the same day that the request is received.
At Findley's driving School we will be disappointed to lose your custom for whatever reason but we will not hold on to your money.
Thank you in advance,
Martyn Findley.
