Driving Instructor Training
Instructor Training at Findley's takes place under the watchful eye of an experienced professional.
My name is Martyn Findley and if you decide after reading this page that you want to take advantage of my training offer then I will be your personal tutor. I am a fully qualified and experienced driving instructor in the Nuneaton, Bedworth and Atherstone areas. I have been infuriated at the number of trainee instructors whom I have met who have received 'training' from so called specialists from so called colleges or national driving schools and who have serious, and justifiable, complaints about their training.
My motivation for teaching instructors is driven by my desire to limit the number of people ripped off every year by these so called specialists. Whether you are new or partly trained I have a few things that you should think about before you take training and certainly before you hand over your first penny.
The links below all lead to my thoughts on the given subject.
- Fees: You will pay me only by the hour for training - Do not hand over any money at all in advance! Do not pay a lump sum, there is a very good chance that refunds will be impossible to collect.
- Ordit Registration: I am not ORDIT registered - Ordit registration requires the payment of large fees to the Driving Standards Agency. It requires that your premises and vehicles are available for inspection, as are your record keeping facilities and training materials. My objections to the ORDIT register are as follows: -
A) It does not require any practical test of your ability to instruct trainees in a vehicle.
B) It does not require that you have any experience even as a driving instructor. Newly qualified instructors can themselves become instructor trainers the day after they pass their part three.
C) No matter how many pupils complain there is no known way to be kicked off the ORDIT register except for either not paying your fees or using unregistered instructors (which simply means that you have not paid as much in fees as you should have done).
Every disgruntled trainee that I have met slavishly adhered to recommended practice and trained with an ORDIT registered driving instructor trainer. Some of them sourced further supplementary training from non registered trainers and were treated much better. - Training Times: I will train you at regular mutually convenient times. -
- Sales Pitches: I don't do any (unless you count this page) -

- Number of Trainers: One, Me! -
- Slick Websites: Expensive, wonder who pays for those? Mine is home made. -
- Specialist Instructor Trainers: My main income is teaching learner drivers which I have been doing very successfully for years. - Unless directly recommended by a happy former pupil.
- Time limits: - The only time limits that matter are set by the Driving Standards Agency.
- Travelling: I only train in my local area -
