Setting the Gas

Knowing how much gas to use when moving off

Depress the gas pedal (accelerator) about the thickness of a pound coin. This is enough to generate a little power. All that you need to move away from the kerb.

Do not be tempted to keep an eye on the engine revolution counter if your car has one. It is much preferred that you become accustomed to listening to the engine noise.
