Why is the driving test standard so high?
The driving test standard does seem to rise over time.
The driving test standard has to be so high because of the changing road conditions that we find ourselves faced with. The ever increasing traffic only leads to more problems. Problems that the pupils of yesteryear were not faced with.
As the conditions on the road become more crowded and more dangerous it becomes even more essential that driving standards amongst new drivers are raised. It is still a fact that they are involved in a proportionately high percentage of road accidents.
I am not saying that the drivers already on the road should not be retested. That is a seperate argument entirely. I am just saying that due to todays driving conditions the test standards are high and will surely continue to be increased over time.
