Why do you refuse to take on pupils who already have a practical driving test booked?

If you have a driving test booked and wish to change to us then please read the following carefully.

The individual instructor will always have the final say on whether or not you are ready for a driving test. The fact that you already have a driving test booked changes nothing.

There are people out there who feel that if they need to change instructors for any reason they can apply pressure to their new instructor by having a driving test already booked when they first meet them. Dream on!

If you already have a test booked then firstly we want to know about it in advance. Your first lesson will be an assessment lesson. At the end of this lesson your instructor will advise you whether or not they are happy for you to take the test.

I am giving you fair warning now. Findley's has an excellent reputation which we aim to maintain. If you are not ready for your test then there are no circumstances under which you will be taken for it. If you alreafy have a driving test booked and are not prepared to take professional advice that it is to be put back or cancelled then please save both you and ourselves the trouble by ringing someone else.

Having laid the law down I must say that I have seen pupils who have come along with pre-booked tests that I have happily taken along to a test centre after just a few lessons to tidy up the finer points. Mostly though the tests get cancelled to save the fee. Your instructor is a trained professional and far better able to judge when the time is right to book the driving test.
