Why do I have to do Show me/Tell me questions?

Would you know the basic safety checks for your car otherwise?

The Show me/Tell me questions were introduced to test your knowledge on some of the points on a car that you should check regularly.

It was felt that people needed testing on this area of knowledge because a poorly maintained car is a danger on the road.

Lots of pupils do not like it but it is true that most peoples answer to any maintenance question is, "Call my dad". Great. At least someone knows the answers but wouldn't it be nice if everyone had a basic level of knowledge. Now they do. With more people knowing what the minimum requirements are for their tyres and which fluids need checking regularly they are much more likely to perform the checks, or at least make sure that someone else does.
