What car do I use for my driving test?
If you are considering using a car other than your instructors for your practical driving test then you should think twice.
usually a pupil will take their practical driving test in their instructors car. There are obvious advantages in taking your driving test in the same car that you took your lessons in. Sometimes a pupil will prefer to use a car of their own.
Most pupils take all of their driving lessons in their instructors car and, whether those lessons have been supplemented by private practice or not, carry on to take their practical driving test in their instructors car as well.
Ocasionally we get a pupl who manages to secure for themselves enough private practice between lessons that our car is the one that they find unusual to drive. When the time arrives for them to take their practical test then they may wish to sit it in their own vehicle. This is not a bad thing.
If a pupil has only recently taken advantage of private practice and most of their time has been spent in their instructors vehicle then that is probably the one that they will feel the most comfortable in.
What matters is not, which car do you take the test in? The real question is, which car do you drive the best? Whereas the answer to the first question may be based sololy on a personal preference, the answer to the second question is based on fact. The answer to the second question is therefore also the correct answer to the first question.
