I have problems distinguishing between left and right, can you sort me out?

Having problems distinguishing between left and right is a common problem.

For a professional driving instructor there is really no problem teaching someone who suffers from this problem.

Tell your instructor that you have problems with left and right, they will only spot it anyway. Once your instructor is aware of the problem they will explain how they are going to manage the situations with you.

Whilst giving briefs they will use change their briefing slightly to incorporate different descrptions of events. On the road they will point if it is necessary for visual clarification of the intended direction. At larger junctions they will give you the exit number so that you can count the number of exits to ensure that you leave at the right one.

When you leave a junction at the wrong exit or turn the wrong way off a road, note the use of the word 'when', you will not be the first by a long way. So don't worry about it.
