Driving Lessons

'L' plate and 'P' plate constantly exchanging places.

The provision of driving lessons to beginners is the bread and butter of driving instructors everywhere.

All beginners are the same in that they require a professional approach within a suitable learning environment. Beyond that the similarities cease. You then need high quality one to one tuition in a suitable training vehicle with an instructor who is dedicated to the task at hand. Let our professionalism be your guide.

Considerable efforts have been made to make sure that all of these requirements are provided for to levels of service that you will approve of.

Taking driving lessons is an important step for personal freedom. Your working potential improves and new prospects arise in your social life. Please click on the link below for more information on what to expect from a standard driving lesson.

Intensive Courses

Learn quickly, pass quickly.

An intensive course from Findley's can be tailored to your requirements. Some people wish to get it all over with in one or two weeks whilst others are happy with two or three lessons a week. Findley's can make your course whatever you wish it to be. Within reason.

While not wishing to disuade you from undertaking an intensive course it is important that you understand that everything is very finite and booked in advance.

The timeframe is set in advance. If there is a particular part of the course that you do not take to on board as well as might be liked, there may not be enough time to re-cover that ground sufficiently.

To prevent this from happening I personally would recommend that you take two or three single lessons (or a single two hour lesson) with an instructor first on the understanding that they are assessing your suitability for the requirements of an intensive course.

If the instructor does not think that an intensive course is best for you then you could either carry on with regular lesons (as many per week as you want so long as the instructor has them available) or seek a course elsewhere.

This second course of action will be easy enough. There are plenty of schools who will take your money and do not care at all about your suitability for an intensive course.

Mock Test

Mock driving test

Sometimes a pupil thinks that they are ready to take a practical driving test but their instructor does not.

A mock driving test with a different instructor can quite easily settle the pupils mind.

Maybe you have been taught by parents or friends and wish to know how near to test standard you really are.

A mock test with Findley's will soon tell you.

Pass Plus

Pass Plus course

The Pass Plus course is a set of six lessons designed to further develop the skills of newly qualified drivers. Findley's is pleased to promote this course in the interests of road safety.

A discount scheme has been set up by participating members of the insurance industry to reward the conscientious student. To be fair they have come up with a decent package of discounts so this is something worth your while looking at.

The successful completion of this scheme rewards you with more than just a certificate and cheaper insurance. You will be driving in the knowledge that you are a safer driver and have knowledge and experience of driving in some different conditions.

Motorway Tuition

Motorway driving course

If you are nervous about driving on motorways or will not drive on one because you are not sure what to do, don't despair. After some motorway lessons with Findley's driving school you will feel confident on those long trips.

Confidence is irredeemably connected to competence. With Findley's we will raise your levels of awareness and forward planning to encourage your competence. Encouraging you to master the techniques that make for good motorway driving. Your confidence will then grow.

We all know people who will quite happily drive extra miles to avoid a motorway journey. All that time wasted when they could have been cruising in comfort at a regular speed, and use less petrol.

A straight(er) line really is the shortest distance between two points. A motorway course from Findley's can make all the difference.

I have lost my confidence since the accident? I have a few bad habits that I should probably sort out." A refresher course from Findley's is the answer.

A Refresher course from Findley's driving school will raise your awareness of drivers around you, inspire you to drive more confidently, and reduce the stress that you feel behind the wheel.

Tailored to your personal requirements a refresher course from your calm, patient Findley's instructor can be all the first aid that your driving needs.

Driving Assessment

Driving Assessment

Have you ever wondered what a professional would think of your driving? This lesson is an ideal way of finding out.

If you think that you are ready for a practical test but want a second opinion before booking one then this is ideal for you. Our instructor will assess your driving and give you a detailed breakdown on whether or not you are ready for the test.

Whatever your requirements Findley's can tailor-make a course of lessons to suit your needs and ability.

Larger vehicles

Tuition in large vehicles

If you are considering buying a larger vehicle, or already have and are having difficulties with it, this could be just the thing for you!

Many people get used to driving small vehicles. After a number of years their particular acclimatisation to these vehicles makes them uncomfortable with the idea of driving anything larger. In life however circumstances change and you may find that your partnet or employer has left you with a larger vehicle than you are ready to drive.

If this sounds familiar to you then a lesson in your own vehicle with an instructor can settle you in to the intricacies of parking, turning and generally driving that vehicle.

Discuss what you would like to achieve with the instructor on the first lesson and overcome your particular concerns in an agreed order.
