Pass Plus Scheme: - Statistics show that new drivers are more likely to have an accident in the first two years of passing their test than at any other time in their driving career.
In the first year of driving, one driver in five is involved in an accident. This is mainly down to a lack of driving experience, and this is where the pass plus scheme comes in!
The pass plus scheme is a voluntary course supported by the insurance industry and taking part could therefore result in cheaper car insurance. The pass plus scheme could be very good for your pocket.
A pass plus course discount scheme has been set up by participating members of the insurance industry to reward the conscientious pass plus student. To be fair they have come up with a decent package of discounts for those who take the pass plus course so this is something worth your while looking at.
I would suggest that most people who undertake the pass plus scheme do not take this step merely for financial reward. The pass plus scheme has to be undertaken within a twelve month
period of time which begins on the day that you pass
your practical driving test.
If you are over this time limit then I am afraid that you are ineligible to take a pass plus course. If you are considering taking a pass plus course and you are still within the allotted time then please do not delay.
Finding an instructor who has the time available to present a pass plus course as well as their regular commitments can sometimes be a problem. The pass plus scheme can be difficult to fit into a busy schedule.
